| (I) Name and introduction of project
The Suzhou rail transit construction plan includes four lines of Line One, Line Two, Line Three & Branch Line, and Line Four. They are located at the Suzhou central urban area, and form into #-shaped overall layout of "two horizontals and two verticals". The Line Two is a north-south trunk line and it is a key line of connecting central urban area Xiangcheng District and Wuzhong District
The Line Two starts from Suzhou Station of Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway in Xiangcheng District, through Pingjiang New City, Shilu Commercial District and Canglang New City, ends at Yingchun South Road in Wuzhong District. The detailed line direction is Suzhou Expressway Station-Taiyang Road-Xiangcheng Road Station-Cailian Road-Zhenzhuhu Road-Fudun Road-Northern Prolonged Line of Renmin Road-North Side of Suzhou Railway Station-Guangji Road-Tongjing South Road-Fuxing Road-Wuzhoung West Road-Panli Road-Suli Road-Shihu Road-Yingchun South Road Station.
The total lenght of line is 27km, including 8.97km elevated line (Taiyang Road-Xiangcheng Road Station-Cailian Road-Fudun Road-Northern Prolonged Line of Renmin Road), 17.45km underground line and 0.58km open section. There are 22 stations along the whole line, including 6 evaluated stations and 16 underground stations. There is one vehicle section located at Taiping Township, two main substation situated at Suzhou Railway Station and Baodai Xilu Station respectively on Line Two.
The total investment amount of this project is RMB11.3055462 billion yuan (including USD81.0545 million). This project will be commenced from January 2009 and it will be trial operated in December 2012. The total construction period is four years.
