Hisense Group To Establish LCDTV Production Base In Egypt
In recent years, Hisense Group's market in North Africa continuously expanded, and Hisense realized sales amount USD4.3m in Egypt with 50,000 TVs exported in 2007. From January to August this year, sales amount stood at USD3m, up by 66% year-on-year. To further expand the market share of Hisense in North Africa, Hisense Group has reached the cooperation agreement with Shams Group that Hisense will provide the production line and parts and components and Shams Group will invest USD15m to establish the production base in Egypt. After officially launched into production, the plant is estimated to manufacture 100,000 LCD TVs annually, which will be mainly distributed to the countries in North Africa and Arab. The move manifests Hisense TV will enter North Africa to a large extent again to occupy the markets in the North and South Africa, following establishment of Hisense's plant in South Africa.
